Aged Care

Portrait of Ruth Pearce featured at Canberra Art Gallery

Ruth Pearce

There’s more than 100 reasons why Ruth Pearce is gracing the walls of a Canberra art gallery.

The 104 year old from Zion Aged Care was part of the The Centenarian Portrait Project by Teenagers, which connected 465 teenage artists with centenarians from all corners of the country.

Queenslander Cathrine Jensen sat with Ruth over several sessions in 2019 while the pair shared their history. Now the full exhibition is on show. Son Ron said the family was very excited to visit the show soon.

Congratulations Ruth on a life well lived!
