Harmony Week Brings Residents Together at Orana Aged Care

Residents at Orana Aged Care came together to celebrate Harmony Week (16–22 March) with a special “Bring a Plate to Share” gathering that highlighted the many cultures, traditions and stories that make up their community.
The event saw residents and staff sharing a variety of homemade dishes, family favourites and traditional recipes, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere filled with conversation, laughter and connection.
Harmony Week is a celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity and an opportunity to recognise the importance of inclusion, respect and belonging. At Orana Aged Care, the gathering reflected these values perfectly, with residents enjoying the chance to learn more about each other’s backgrounds and experiences through food and shared stories.
From treasured family recipes passed down through generations to much-loved comfort foods, every plate brought something meaningful to the table and sparked memories, conversations and new connections.

The celebration was a wonderful reminder that diversity strengthens communities and that everyone deserves to feel welcomed, valued and connected.
🧡 A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed a dish and helped make the celebration so special.
