Alondra Residences now open

With 52 apartments, 3,400 plants, rooftop gardens, a licensed café and an in house concierge, Alondra is now operational!

The first residents of Alondra have moved in and the building was dedicated by Bishop Paul Smith on October 20.

CEO Nick Ryan said Alondra Residences was inspired by retirement communities throughout Europe, as well as ideas from affordable housing projects that foster a sense of community.

“We’re all about offering greater choice, strong community connections and lifestyles that can be treasured,” Lutheran Services CEO Nick Ryan said.

“We’ve had a great response to Alondra Residences – from Nundah locals through to interstate residents returning to their Brisbane roots – all seeking a quality retirement lifestyle that’s close to everything.”

Geoff and Christine Kirton are the first residents to move in, re-locating from Boondall.

“Christine uses a motorised scooter and lives with MS, so easy access to Nundah Village, Toombul Shopping Centre and public transport was a big reason we chose Alondra,” Mr Kirton said.

“We wanted a home where we could still enjoy independent living yet have access to all the support we need.

“We’ve lived in apartments before and prefer this over the traditional ‘villa’ style – a bonus to vertical living is we get to enjoy the sweeping views from our penthouse apartment.”
