I love getting to know the residents and their families. It feels great to be able to help people, whether it’s with something big or just a small question. I enjoy being someone they can rely on, and it’s really rewarding when they feel comfortable coming to me for support.

I always try to check in on the residents, even just for a quick chat. Every morning, I like to do a lap of the facility and say good morning to everyone. This means I really am a familiar face to them, and our residents and their families feel comfortable to reach out for anything they need.

One of my favourite places to spend time is definitely the garden areas. Being in a rural location, we’re surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife. Its so nice to be able to sit with a resident or their families in these beautiful areas.

Communication is key. I always keep the families in the loop about how their loved one is doing, and I make sure they know I’m here if they need anything. I listen to any worries they have and do my best to make them feel heard and taken care of.
