What I love most about this role is the ability to connect with people to serve and assist them and their families.
One of my fondest memories was coming to Cooinda in my youth group days over Easter and handing out roses and gifts to residents. Being able to connect and smile with someone knowing they felt loved and seen.
In the short time that I have been here smiling and connecting with a simple hello or conversation and seeing a resident respond with a smile.
As a CCA we help residents and families feel supported by listening to their stories and helping them navigate Age care, Retirement living and Home Care. It’s the one on one conversations we can have in person or over the phone that helps families put their mind at ease knowing someone is there for them and their loved ones.
I’m a huge believer in community engagement and have been a long-term volunteer of many local societies. I can’t wait to continue these community engagements throughout my role as CCA across the Gympie region.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the tours around site and being outside in nature on Cooinda’s 25 acre property. The waterfall, gardens and outside spaces have a sense of calm and homely feel about them.
