I love being able to support families through this hard time. I’ve been a part of the Immanual Gardens team for many years, and its nice to be a familiar face for families when they visit.
We often receive lovely letters and cards from families after a loved one has transitioned into our care. Its so touching to think people having taken the time to share these with us in such a busy time for them. It means so much to receive these.
Building relationship with each family/ client and seeing that continue when they come into care. It might just be a simple hello when I’m walking around site. Its a lovely reminder that what i do does make a difference to other people’s lives.
It all starts from that first phone call or meeting – When we start building up the relationship and trust of families that have made the enquiry. Some families don’t know where to start. I will sit down with families, and sometimes the client too, to get an understand of what they are after and talk through the process of coming into Immanuel gardens and what we have to offer on site. These conversations will be about the application process and finance.
I often visit the local hospitals to meet with the social workers. I also work closely with the Headland Bowls Club and have built up our sponsorship with them.
We are very lucky at Immanuel Gardens. We’re surrounded by beautiful gardens and views of the Sunshine Coast, so I enjoy spending time all around the site.
