COVID-19 – Latest updates and information

19 January 2023 | Aged Care

Queensland has moved into a new phase of COVID-19 management.

On 31 October 2022, the Queensland Government declared that COVID-19 Public Health Directions are no longer in effect. Instead, they have introduced a traffic light system to help Queenslanders understand the current level of risk and to take appropriate precautions.  You can read more about this here.

On 17 January 2023, Queensland Health downgraded the traffic light system from amber to green. This means there are lower rates of community transmission in Queensland at the moment, and we are no longer in a COVID-19 wave.

Some of our homes are experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks, as a result of the previous wave which commenced November 2022. For this reason and in the interest of keeping our residents and staff COVID-safe, we request that everyone continues to comply with the following visitor requirements:

• Wear a surgical mask when visiting our accommodation services

• Complete the electronic entry screening process prior to visiting

• Do not visit our accommodation services if you have any symptoms consistent with COVID-19

• Take a Rapid antigen test (RAT) prior to visiting our accommodation services – we can provide these tests kits if you need

• While visiting, socially distance and wash your hands frequently

• While vaccinations are not mandatory to visit, we respectfully request that you keep up to date with your vaccinations

• Do not visit until 7 days after you have tested positive to COVID-19 or have become a close contact of someone who has COVID-19.

Should any of our homes have an outbreak of COVID-19, regardless of the state’s overall status (green, amber, or red) we will respond immediately with our outbreak and communication management plan.
