Cream

We are proud to support the opening of Crema and Cream at our newest retirement village Alondra Residences.

Last week, residents and staff gathered to celebrate the opening, enjoying a spectacular Italian High Tea (pictured).

It wasn’t long before all the food had been eaten – and thoroughly enjoyed!

Birthday

A very happy 100th to Zion resident Dot, who celebrated her special day surrounded by family!

She’s pictured here with her special friend, Chaplain Heidi Smith.

Thanks

Between COVID lockdowns and the floods that devastated South East Queensland, it’s been a very challenging time for all of us.

Our staff have gone above and beyond to ensure our clients and residents have felt safe, supported and comfortable during the last few months.

We celebrate our staff and the commitment they’ve shown.

Every staff member will receive a special gift pack full of goodies, including some lovely baked treats made and packed by Lutheran Youth Queensland.

Thank you to all our wonderful staff! We couldn’t do it without you.

Service

Retiring after 38 years with the Lutheran Church and 16 years as Lead Chaplain at Immanuel Gardens Aged Care, Adrian Muller will be heartily missed by all who have been lucky enough to benefit from his spiritual care.

Pastor Adrian was given a rite of farewell, including a prayer of blessing, by First Assistant Bishop Ben Hentschke and now becomes a Pastor Emeritus.

Long-time colleague Arlene Henry quipped that his dad jokes would be missed by all!

Thoughtful presents were gifted to Adrian at a ceremony in early March – catnip because he leaves behind beloved site cats Sugar and Spice and a potted protea plant so he can remember his days ministering to the lovely residents in Protea.

Hardworking, but oh-so-gentle, Connie the ex-Guide Dog is a campus champion!

Immanuel Garden’s Retirement Living staffer Angela Wootton-McDonald and daughter Ivy, who works at Immanuel Early Learning Centre are Connie’s carers for the school’s therapy dog program.

Connie loves young and old and works her therapy dog magic with the littlies at Immanuel Early Learning and the older kids at Immanuel College.

“She is a great conversation starter and helps breaks the ice on many a conversation,” says Angela.

Church St in Boonah sure looks brighter with some vibrant new signage to welcome the opening of the new Teviot Home Care office.

Come and join us for a sausage sizzle and Home Care information day on November 5!

Turning 100 is an incredible achievement, but what about 101?

Even more impressive, we say! Immanuel Gardens Retirement Living resident Mary Haddon celebrated her 101st birthday this month surrounded by her friends, family and staff.

Here she is captured in her element – enjoying a spot of golf!

To celebrate National Carers’ Week, Salem Aged Care in Toowoomba pulled out all the stops to show just how loved our carers are!

Not only were notes of appreciation placed all over the grounds, there was free coffee, massages and a raffle with prizes donated from staff and suppliers.

To top it all off, staff dressed up in sparkles – just to show how much sparkle they put into our lives!

Hay Hay! The Kalbar Country Day is approaching and Teviot Villas resident Margaret is sewing up a storm for a market stall.

The Boonah resident says the most popular items are the insulated microwave bowl holders (pictured with Margaret) and trivets in the pattern of fruit flans.

All the items are meticulously sewn using beautiful materials. Kalbar Country Day is Saturday 16 October.

Our Moving Moments program is proving age is no barrier to friendship in many regional Queensland communities.
