Zion and St Andrews aged care now closed to visitors
Following the small number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Queensland, the Chief Health Officer has directed all aged care services in the Gold Coast, Logan and Brisbane Local Government Areas close to visitors.
This directly impacts St Andrews at Tallebudgera, Trinder Park at Woodridge and Zion at Nundah.
The Tabeel aged care service in Laidley is also currently closed to visitors on advice from the West Moreton Public Hospital and Health Unit.
This is a precautionary measure only. There are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at any of Lutheran Service aged care sites.
The Queensland Chief Health Officer has also directed that:
- extra health screening be performed
- staff do not to work across multiple facilities, and
- any person (other than a resident) entering the Service must wear a surgical face mask.
If there are compassionate reasons for you to visit your loved one, please call the service to discuss how that may be achieved.
We are unsure about how long these visitor restrictions will remain in place and we will keep you updated.
We will be encouraging and supporting family and friends to keep in touch with loved ones via phone or video calling. Our complimentary WiFi service has been upgraded and we have implemented the Bring Your Own Device (or BYOD) program.
Our social and lifestyle activities will continue as we remain dedicated to providing the very best care and support for our residents.
For your information, the Australian Government has put in place an Emergency Leave program. It means that your loved one can take leave from a Lutheran Services aged care community and live somewhere else for a while and we will keep their place available. If you would like more information on that please call our Lutheran Services contact centre on 1800 243 935 or click here.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our devoted teams across Lutheran Services for their care, dedication and service at this time.
If you have any enquiries please call 1800 243 935.
