Visitor restrictions extended to Tabeel, Laidley
A small number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Logan and Acacia Ridge. As a result, the Queensland Chief Health Officer has asked that all aged care services in the West Moreton Public Health Unit region be closed to visitors.
This includes our aged care service at Tabeel, Laidley.
On Wednesday Trinder Park aged care community in Woodridge was also asked to close to visitors.
The Chief Health Officer also asked that extra screening for staff be performed, and that staff are not to work across multiple facilities.
Tabeel is now closed to visitors, extra screening will be performed and staff are no longer able to work across multiple sites.
Our team is following all directives and taking every step recommended by authorities to keep our people safe. Residents and staff will be able to interact within their local community area but not throughout the whole site. Communal dining areas will be temporarily closed.
All measures are precautionary, with no positive cases at Tabeel.
We are unsure about how long these visitor restrictions will be in place. We will keep you updated.
We will be encouraging and supporting family and friends to keep in touch with loved ones via phone or video calling. Our complimentary WiFi service has been upgraded and we have implemented the Bring Your Own Device (or BYOD) program.
Our social and lifestyle activities will continue as we remain dedicated to providing the very best care and support for our residents.
For your information, the Australian Government has put in place an Emergency Leave program. It means that your loved one can take leave from Tabeel and live somewhere else for a while and Tabeel will keep their place available. If you would like more information on that please call our Lutheran Services contact centre on 1800 243 935 or click here.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the devoted team at Tabeel for their care, dedication and service at this time.
