Update – no confirmed COVID-19 cases at Tabeel, Laidley
We would like to provide an update on current events in the local area in response to the unfortunate news of a Karinya Place Aged Care staff member in Laidley testing positive for COVID-19 last week.
Lutheran Services confirms there are no cases of COVID-19 at Tabeel aged care in Laidley. Karinya Place is operated by Carinity.
A small number of our staff who had been in contact with staff or residents at Karinya Place were tested. These tests came back negative for COVID-19.
In line with government directions due to moderate risk already identified in the community, Tabeel staff and essential service providers within the service have been wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and have been closed to non-essential visitors since 22 August.
Tabeel aged care services will continue to remain closed to non-essential visitors. Any visiting GPs and allied health professionals will continue to wear appropriate PPE.
Lutheran Services’ top priority is providing a safe home for our residents and a safe workplace for our staff. Since March, staff have been adhering to strict hygiene protocols and health screening. Staff are also well trained in infection control and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
Please be reassured we are being cautious and vigilant and doing everything to keep our much-loved residents and our staff safe. Your patience, understanding and cooperation at this time is very much appreciated.
