Sydney’s Northern Beaches hotspot

December 2020

The Queensland Chief Health Officer has declared the Northern Beaches area of Sydney a COVID-19 hotspot. This means under Aged Care Direction No.15 that people who have been in Sydney’s Northern Beaches since December 11 are unable to enter aged care services.

If you have been in any COVID-19 hotspot in the last 14 days, you will be unable to visit any of Lutheran Services Aged care services until further notice.

Current visiting requirements

Visiting is open to all other people, however the visitor protocols outlined in the latest Aged Care Direction (No. 15) remain in place.

This includes signing a health declaration at reception, taking a visitor’s temperature, social distancing, hand hygiene, staying home if unwell.

More specifically visitors are required to visit within their loved one’s room, outdoors, or in a specific area designated for family visits.

The requirement for social distancing may limit the number of people allowed in residents’ rooms.

So, if you are planning to visit in a large group, we ask that you contact us in advance so we can ensure an appropriate space is available.

Common areas are still to be avoided.

Of course, a resident can still leave the home to attend a family gathering, if there are 50 people or less in attendance, or it is held at a venue which follows the government’s COVID safe regulations.

We thank you for your ongoing understanding as we navigate this is a rapidly evolving situation. We will continue to update you as required.
