Masks for aged care visitors, some sites

November 2021

Queensland Health has provided further advice on escalated use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), given the recent community COVID-19 cases and community transmission. These precautions are intended to limit the further spread of this variant in the community and allow an assessment of risk of any further exposure in the community.

This means visitors to aged care in LGAs including Toowoomba Region, South Burnett and Gold Coast must wear surgical masks when entering the site.

Lutheran Services aged care sites impacted includes St Andrews (Gold Coast), Northridge and Northridge Salem (Toowoomba Region) and Orana (South Burnett).

This is an evolving situation, and we will update our communities when we are advised that these restrictions change.
