Tabeel, Laidley – no confirmed COVID-19 cases
We would like to provide an update on current events in the local area in response to the unfortunate news of a Karinya Place Aged Care staff member in Laidley testing positive for COVID-19.
Lutheran Services confirms there are no cases of COVID-19 at Tabeel aged care in Laidley. Karinya Place is operated by Carinity.
A small number of our staff have been in contact with staff or residents at Karinya Place. These staff are getting tested for COVID-19 and self-isolating as a precaution. Please note, there is currently no known direct contact identified.
In line with government directions due to moderate risk already identified in the community, Tabeel staff and essential service providers within the service have been wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and have been closed to non-essential visitors since 22 August.
Families of Tabeel residents will be updated with any developments including test results as soon as known either via email, SMS or phone calls.
Tabeel aged care services will continue to remain closed to non-essential visitors. Any visiting GPs and allied health professionals will continue to wear appropriate PPE.
Lutheran Services’ top priority is providing a safe home for our residents and a safe workplace for our staff. Since March, staff have been adhering to strict hygiene protocols and health screening. Staff are also well trained in infection control and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
Please be reassured we are being cautious and vigilant and doing everything to keep our much-loved residents and our staff safe. Your patience, understanding and cooperation at this time is very much appreciated.
