COVID-19 update – 30 December
Firstly, thank you for your ongoing support and well wishes in this ongoing COVID-19 situation. See below for the latest updates for all Lutheran Services locations.
Immanuel Gardens – precautionary lockdown
Immanuel Gardens aged care is now closed to visitors as a staff member has tested positive to COVID-19.
Our team is prepared and are now implementing our Outbreak Management Plan. As a precautionary measure, the Public Health Unit (PHU) has locked down Immanuel Gardens to all visitors until further notice and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been upgraded for all staff.
All residents and staff will be tested as soon as possible. There will be updates here when we know more.
We will continue to be guided by the local PHU and work closely with relevant Government agencies to contain and manage the situation.
Tabeel – confirmed outbreak
Test results came through late yesterday and unfortunately, we now have multiple positive residents and staff members. Two of the positive residents are being treated in hospital.
A second round of testing is occurring today and of course we will keep you up to date on the results.
Should we receive advice that your loved one tests positive, rest assured we will personally call you immediately.
We continue to work closely with the Public Health Unit and other government agencies to contain and manage the situation. We are continuing to implement our Outbreak Management Plan. We remain in lockdown with residents safely in their rooms.
We are pleased to say our lifestyle team are working hard to ensure residents remain active and connected. Overall, the spirit of the residents remains high.
Trinder Park aged care – confirmed outbreak
We have almost completed a week of being locked down, with multiple staff and residents testing positive for COVID-19.
Currently no other residents are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19.
Yesterday the Public Health Unit conducted a round of follow up testing for staff and residents. We will keep you updated on the results. Should we receive advice that your loved one tests positive, rest assured we will personally call you immediately.
So far, staff and residents have rallied around, despite the trying circumstances. We are very grateful for our hard-working staff and the positive attitude of the residents. Lifestyle staff have been making visits to residents with activity packs and book requests from our library to keep people occupied.
As you probably know, staff make regular trips to the supermarket to fill in orders from residents. However, our staff are currently unable to continue doing this at this time. If you are aware of any additional items your loved one requires, please feel free to drop it to the gate between 6am-4pm weekdays, while the gate is manned. Just label the parcel with your loved one’s name and we will deliver it.
Contacting COVID impacted sites
Please continue to phone the service directly. However, please be aware should our office telephones be overwhelmed with enquiries, we have established a temporary 24/7 overflow contact centre to ensure your calls are always answered. This centre will be able to receive your call and answer most of your general queries. Should you need more personal information on how your loved one is going they will be able to take a message and ensure someone calls you back.
If required, we may phone nominated contacts to provide a timely update. This may come from a number you do not recognise.
