COVID-19 Update – 10 February 2022

We are pleased to advise that all our aged care services are open to visitors with the exception of St Paul’s Aged Care, Caboolture, and parts of Cooinda Aged Care, Gympie and Trinder Park Aged Care, Woodridge. 

As part of our transition out of COVID related lockdowns, as a precaution our services have designated visiting times. We hope to move to normal visiting times as soon as possible if all continues to go well.

In compliance with Qld Government Aged Care Direction 12 visitors are required to:

  • wear a surgical mask
  • sign a health declaration prior to entry
  • supply evidence they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Cooinda Aged Care, Gympie

In good news, no new cases of COVID-19 in our residents or staff have been reported overnight, so our total cases remain at one resident and one staff member since 7 February. 

Level 1 of Hibiscus will remain closed to visitors but our residents are able to move around their area.  

Clarkson, Davidson and Jacaranda are still open to visitors. Please phone us on 07 5329 5300 in advance to book your visit. 

 

Immanuel Gardens Aged Care, Buderim

All of Immanuel Gardens is open to visitors.

We welcome visitors between 8am-5pm Monday to Friday and 10am-2pm on weekends.

As part of our infection control measures, visits are currently limited to two people for one hour at a time. Visits will occur in the resident’s room or designated area. To help us maintain a safe environment and ensure all residents have an opportunity to see their loved ones, please call to make a visitor booking.

 

Northridge Salem Aged Care, Toowoomba

All of Northridge Salem is open to visitors.  

We welcome visitors between 9am-11am and 1pm-3pm daily.  

As part of our infection control measures visits are currently limited to two people for one hour at a time. Visits will occur in the resident’s room or designated area. To help us maintain a safe environment and ensure all residents have an opportunity to see their loved ones, please call to make a visitor booking.  

 

Orana Aged Care, Kingaroy

All of Orana is open to visitors.

We welcome visitors between 10am-3pm daily.  

 

Salem Hume Street

All of  Salem Hume Street is open to visitors.   

We welcome visitors to Nova and Tulip between 9-11am, 1-3pm and 6.30-7.30pm daily.

St Andrews Aged Care, Tallebudgera

All of St Andrews is open to visitors.   

We welcome visitors between visitors between 9am-4pm Monday to Saturday, and 9am-1pm Sunday. 

As part of our infection control measures visits are currently limited to two people for one hour at a time. Visits will occur in the resident’s room or designated area. To help us maintain a safe environment and ensure all residents have an opportunity to see their loved ones, please call to make a visitor booking.  

 

St Paul’s Aged Care, Caboolture

We again have no new cases of COVID-19 at St Paul’s today. Our total number of cases is still 13 residents and four staff since 6 February 2022. 

All residents and staff will be PCR tested this Saturday, 12 February. Please be assured that if your loved one returns a positive result, we will contact you personally, immediately. 

St Paul’s remains in lockdown and closed to visitors for now. 

It has been great to see so many residents enjoying catching up with loved ones via video and phone calls. If you would like us to assist in setting up a call, please let us know. 

 

Tabeel Aged Care, Laidley

All of Tabeel is open to visitors.   

We welcome visitors between 9am-12pm daily at the Hostel, and 1pm-3pm daily at the Nursing Home.  

As part of our infection control measures visits are currently limited to two people for one hour at a time. Visits will occur in the resident’s room or designated area. To help us maintain a safe environment and ensure all residents have an opportunity to see their loved ones, please call to make a visitor booking.  

 

Trinder Park Aged Care, Woodridge

We have no new cases of COVID-19 at Trinder Park today. Our total cases remain at 11 residents and one staff member since 4 February. 

In line with Public Health Unit guidance, Karri Court remains closed to visitors. It has been great to see residents engaging with loved ones through video and phone calls. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like assistance with setting up a call. 

 The rest of Trinder Park is operating as usual and continues to welcome visitors from 9am-4pm daily.

 

Wahroonga Aged Care, Biloela

All of Wahroonga is open to visitors.

Please keep up the use of masks and refrain from visiting if you are feeling unwell. 

Zion Aged Care, Nundah

There are no new cases of COVID-19 among Zion residents or staff. Our total number of cases remains at eight positive residents and 19 positive staff since 31 December.  

 We welcome visitors between 9am-3pm on weekdays and 9am-12pm on weekends.  

 If you’re planning to take your loved one outside of Zion for an outing, please let us know at least 24 hours’ in advance so we can assist with planning to ensure a safe visit and return to site. 

 


Retirement Living – General update

As independent living services we will not be providing daily updates on resident cases in our retirement villages. However, we would like to advise the following:  

  • So we can support you please notify the Retirement Village Manager if you receive a positive COVID-19 test result or are isolating as a close contact. We are here to assist.   
  • If there is a positive case in the village, we will close the common areas and do a deep clean. 
  • If our Retirement Village or Home Care team visit a village resident that is a close contact or is positive to COVID-19 the staff will be wearing full personal protective equipment.  
  • I encourage to look after each other. If you know someone in the village who is isolating, please give them a call or pop a message of support in their letterbox.  
  • If you already have Home Care services with Lutheran Services they can continue – staff will wear full personal protective equipment. 
  • If you must isolate at home, we are happy to support you to ensure you have things like groceries, meals and medical supplies. Please just call me – even if you do not have Home Care with us. We are here to support you at this time.  
  • If your village is co-located with an aged care service and that service has a COVID-19 event we will advise you that the retirement village areas shared with aged care and the village will be closed. No entry signage will be displayed at entry points and all shared areas.  

 

Home Care Services

We would like to provide an update on how we are supporting you and keeping you and our staff safe during this time.  

Infection control  

You will receive a phone call from our staff before each visit to confirm you are feeling well and not displaying any COVID-19 symptoms. Please tell your carer if you feel unwell. We can help you make arrangements to be tested.  

If you receive a positive result we will need to know as soon as possible. In this case, we can continue your home care, however our staff will need to wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks and gowns.  

Please ask us if you need extra services while isolating, such as shopping or medication management.  

Communication  

Keeping our staff and clients informed in a timely manner is a priority and our COVID-19 Response Communication Plan has been implemented.  

You will be notified if a staff member that you have been in contact with tests positive. We will provide you with timely updates. 

Extra supports  

If you must cancel your appointments with us or if we cancel group activities, we will check in with you regularly by phone to ensure you are doing OK.   

Please feel free to call us between these calls if you need assistance.  

Please remember that even if you test positive for COVID-19 we can continue your services. We will wear extra personal protective equipment.
