COVID-19 Update – 1 January 2022

January 2022

Welcome 2022.

Trinder Park – outbreak

Just a short update today to tell you we have one new resident testing positive to COVID-19. She is going to hospital for acute treatment but will be returning.

In total that’s 12 staff and 3 residents positive to COVID-19.

We are very aware that residents are feeling the impacts of the lockdown and we are working hard to put things in place to help them including daily chaplain visits.

If you would like to speak to your loved one, please call the office if you do not have a direct line and we will assist.

Care packs from Logan City Council, with contributions from MP Jim Chalmers and Bunnings have been delivered to residents in the last few days, including magazines, sudoku books and other treats. Thank you to the supporters in the community.

Tabeel – outbreak

Just a short update today to tell you we have 9 COVID-19 positive residents and 23 positive staff. We are still awaiting all the results from testing carried out on December 30.

Another round of staff and negative resident testing occurred today. Due to the demand for testing at the moment in the community, we expect to experience delays in getting test results.

Should we receive advice that your loved one tests positive, rest assured we will personally call nominated contacts immediately.

Immanuel Gardens – lockdown

The staff member who recently tested positive for COVID-19 is resting at home and feeling OK.

We are still waiting on the residents’ results from tests conducted on 80 of our residents earlier this week. We will update you as soon as we get more news.

There were no more positive cases today. We are still waiting for all the results of the COVID-19 testing that was completed earlier this week.

Tomorrow we will be testing the residents who were not tested earlier this week.

In the case of any positive results, be assured we will immediately call the nominated contact for each resident.

If you would like to speak to your loved one, please call the office if you do not have a direct line and we will assist.

Contacting COVID impacted sites

Please continue to phone the service directly. However, please be aware should our office telephones be overwhelmed with enquiries, we have established a temporary 24/7 overflow contact centre to ensure your calls are always answered. This centre will be able to receive your call and answer most of your general queries. Should you need more personal information on how your loved one is going they will be able to take a message and ensure someone calls you back.

If required, we may phone nominated contacts to provide a timely update. This may come from a number you do not recognise.
