COVID-19 Update 09 January 2022

January 2022

Tabeel Aged Care, Laidley

One resident has tested positive to COVID-19 overnight. No new staff have tested positive.

This brings the total to 29 positive staff and 20 positive residents since 27 December.

We continue to welcome back staff who have recovered and are cleared to work. It’s wonderful to have them back and well!

Residents continue to enjoy special treats from the kitchen. The kitchen staff are having fun finding new favourite foods to prepare.

Zion Aged Care, Nundah

Today, two staff returned positive COVID-19 tests. In total we have eight positive staff and two residents positive to COVID-19 since 31 December.

It is worth noting that one of the positive residents who was at Zion for respite care has been discharged to home. This means only one previously positive resident remains on site.

Some staff will be returning to work tomorrow and it will be lovely to welcome them back!

While residents remain in their rooms, the Lifestyle staff have been coming up with some fun activities. Elvis’s birthday was celebrated on the weekend with classic tunes and trivia games. Fun fact, if he was alive he would be 83!

Immanuel Gardens Aged Care, Buderim

There has been one new staff member testing positive for COVID-19. That brings the total to four staff members testing positive and no residents testing positive.

It looks like all our hard work is paying off and we are tracking in the right direction. We continue to be guided by the local Public Health Unit and other government agencies to contain and manage the situation.

The Vista continues to be open to visitors. If you are planning a visit to the Vista, please remember to wear a surgical mask. Up to two people can visit at a time in your loved one’s room between 9am and 12pm.

At the Terrace, there are no residents with COVID-19 symptoms. However, we will not be re-opening the Terrace to visitors until we have received confirmation from the Public Health Unit. We will keep you posted and hope to have you visiting your loved ones in the Terrace as soon as it is safe to do so.

As always if you would like to speak to your loved one, please call the office if you do not have a direct line and we will assist.

Overnight two staff have tested positive to COVID-19. This brings the total to 25 positive staff and 13 positive residents since 25 December.

I am pleased to say that all positive residents are experiencing only mild symptoms.

As advised yesterday, in collaboration with the Public Health Unit we have locked down Melaleuca and Lilly Pilly in addition to the Nursing Home.

Karri Court, Rosewood and the Hostel remain open to two visitors at a time from 9am to 12pm daily.

Two of the residents are being treated in hospital.

Yesterday there was drive through PCR testing for staff. We will keep you updated on those results. If your loved one tests positive, be assured we will call you personally.

We are organising Zoom face to face contact with families, and phone calls. If you would like to speak to your loved one and they require assistance to phone, please get in touch with us and we will help to organize this.

We will continue to be guided by the local PHU and work closely with relevant Government bodies to contain and manage the situation.

St Andrew’s Aged Care, Tallebudgera

The Camelia wing of St Andrews remains in lockdown today as a precautionary measure managing a close contact situation. Rapid testing is being undertaken tomorrow.

Contacting COVID impacted sites

Please continue to phone the service directly. However, please be aware should our office telephones be overwhelmed with enquiries, we have established a temporary 24/7 overflow contact centre to ensure your calls are always answered. This centre will be able to receive your call and answer most of your general queries. Should you need more personal information on how your loved one is going they will be able to take a message and ensure someone calls you back.

If required, we may phone nominated contacts to provide a timely update. This may come from a number you do not recognise.
