Closed to visitors to continue at some sites, Qld Govt
The Queensland Chief Health Officer (CHO) has ended the lockdown of the Greater Brisbane area from today, Monday 11 January at 6pm.
However, under Aged Care Direction Number 18 the restriction to visitors to aged care services remains in a number of Local Government Areas.
The impacted sites are Tabeel aged care (Lockyer Valley Region), Trinder Park aged care (Logan City), St Paul’s aged care (Moreton Bay Region) and Zion aged care (City of Brisbane).
Whilst under these restrictions, we have been advised that residents cannot leave their home unless they are receiving health care, attending a funeral or for an emergency or for compassionate reasons.
Sites can only receive visitors in exceptional circumstances. If you would like to read the full government advice, please click here.
We are still unsure of when the restrictions on visiting will be lifted, but of course we will advise you when we hear further news.
In the meantime if you need any help keeping in touch with loved ones via phone or video calling, our staff are on hand to assist.
We are continuing our lifestyle and creative activities and you are still encouraged to do the simple things such as write letters, telephone or drop off gifts at any time.
Please contact the aged care sites directly if you have any further questions or specific concerns you would like to discuss.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation and we look forward to seeing you again in person as soon as we are able.
