As you may already be aware health authorities across the nation are continuing to respond to novel conoravirus, a serious infectious illness that has emerged from China. Health authorities are continuing to update advice.
At the time of writing this bulletin, nine cases have been found in Australia.
Lutheran Services, as a department of the Lutheran Church Queensland District, is cooperating with evolving health advice from the Australian Government.
Our commitment is to remain vigilant to government directions, support the government’s containment strategies and practice prevention procedures.
As per the Australian Government advice:
- If you or your family or friends have travelled to Hubei province in China, or have had contact with a confirmed case of novel coronavirus, you must not attend any of our services.
- People in these situations must self isolate, which means staying at home and not accepting visitors for 14 days. You can contact the Department of Health Information Hotline on 1800 004 599 for more information on isolation.
You can access the latest advice and fact sheets from the Australian Government here:
The health and safety of our residents, clients and their families and our staff is, of course, paramount and we thank you in advance for your cooperation and support as we navigate this situation.
We are maintaining contact with staff, families and residents on this matter.
