We take the time to get to know you and tailor your program to meet your needs. We manage your healthcare for you too, so you can relax and enjoy the things you like doing.

Sometimes we all need a little break. Respite Care is a short term, temporary stay at our aged care homes. You’ll receive accommodation, care and all the support you need. This can be a handy option when carers are on holidays, or if you’re leaving hospital and need a helping hand before returning home.

For those living with dementia, we offer attentive, specialist care. Some of our residential aged care services have secure units that are purpose designed for residents living with memory impairment. You will receive all the care and support you need from our friendly team, in a safe, nurturing environment.

We offer professional end of life care for our residents where we help them live as fully and as comfortably as possible. On top of our professional clinical care and skilled symptom management, we also offer emotional and spiritual support for our residents and their loved ones. All of our aged care services has an onsite chaplain ready to provide pastoral care. Good communication is so important during this time and our caring team give you their best.

5 Steps to entering Aged Care

Step 1

Apply for an ACAT Assessment

You’ll need to be assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) to find out what level of care you need. To book an assessment for yourself or a family member, call My Aged Care or call us on 1800 960 433 and a friendly Client Advisor can help you get started.

Step 2

Find a community that suits you

While you’re waiting for your ACAT assessment letter, you can start researching providers to find an aged care community that will suit your care needs. Some other things to consider include location, accommodation, meals and other services and fees and charges.

Step 3

Figure out the costs

How much you pay when you move into an aged care residence will depend on your financial situation. Our Client Advisors can explain the costs to you – just call  1800 960 433. We also recommend that seek independent financial advice prior to moving in.

Step 4

Apply to a provider

To move into an aged care service, you’ll need to complete an application pack and provide other forms or documents to support your application. If you would like to apply to a Lutheran Services aged care service, our Client Advisors can help you with the paperwork.

Step 5

Time to move in

Once you have returned your paperwork, the provider will confirm whether your application has been accepted and agree an admission date. Then, you’re ready to move in! Your service manager will be there to make sure you have everything you need and welcome you home.
